Louise Nordh is a contemporary artist whose work explore emotion, texture, and everyday moments.
With a background in graphic design, her early creations were marked by structure and precision, but over time her style has become more intuitive and free. A turning point came with the creation of small works featuring quirky characters interacting with thick blobs of paint she calls “Splats.” This exploration sparked a deeper interest in texture and shape, which now defines much of her larger work.
Since being selected for The Other Art Fair’s New Futures scheme in 2022, her practice has evolved into a celebration of spontaneity and storytelling.
Inspired by motherhood and the beauty of the unexpected, she embraces the unpredictability of visible brushstrokes and layered paint, allowing emotion and chance to guide the process.
Though deeply personal, her work invites open interpretation — encouraging viewers to connect in their own way and discover meaning in the movement, mess, and magic of paint.
