Alex Beattie
A printmaker and textile artist, living and working in North London. Graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2025. Exhibited in the Summer Exhibition at The Royal Academy in 2021 and 2022.
Each work unfolds a mythical dreamscape, constructed from multiple hand-drawn elements to create a graphic unity. They’re brought to the page through a printmaking process that builds up layers of transparent colour and gold leaf to produce lush, dense vibrancy.
Inspiration comes from everything and anything – Byzantine mosaic to socialist poster art; Cimabue to instant ramen; Hokusai to videogames.
