Catherine Lette is a painter living and working in South London. With a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martin’s, Lette participated in the Turps Off-site Painting Program 2019-2022.
Lette’s artworks depict malleable human figures revealing the joys, frustrations and absurdities of daily life. Unbound by the rules of human embodiment they encourage the viewer to question conventions and allow for vagaries in meaning to arise. She uses drawing, painting and collage to explore embodiment and disembodiment in the real and virtual spaces that we live in today. Lette was a finalist in the Ingram Prize and Hari Art Prize 2022 and has participated in numerous group shows, curators' selections and been shortlisted for the Jackson's painting prize. She has her first solo show coming up in June and her work is held in private collections in the UK and internationally.
