‘My works are mixed media pieces combining collaged photographs and printed material, with three-dimensional artefacts attached to the glass of the frame. I am drawn to the iconic layout of LIFE magazine covers from the 1940s and 1950s, both the imagery and the typography. By manipulating one or both elements, I create new narratives to engage, perplex and hopefully delight the viewer.’
Clive studied Fine Art at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and St Martins School of Art. Since 2019, he has had solo exhibitions at Chelsea Arts Club, Putney Pies and The French House, in addition to participating in many group shows. In October 2022 he co-curated and featured in ‘The Misplaced Twin' exhibition at Koppel Hive Gallery. His work is in public and private collections, including MOMA New York.
