Josephine was born and lives in London, UK. Her practice is primarily concerned with the body in relation to sexuality, the domestic, the pathos of modern life and a society in decline - imagined and real. She did her Fine Art BA at Goldsmiths College in the late 90s.
Josephine has exhibited widely in the UK and Internationally, in and outside of mainstream galleries. Recent exhibitions include: ‘Freeze-frame Fast-forward’ at Koppel Project Central, 2019, ‘If I was a Rich girl’ at Kunstraum Riehen, Basel, 2019 with Louise Bourgeois, Helen Chadwick & Valie Export, Coombs Contemporary, London 2019, Turps Gallery/ASC Gallery, 2018. Her films have been screened at Centre for Contemporary Art Glasgow, The Horse Hospital, Vitrine Gallery and Whitechapel Gallery.
She was shortlisted for The East London Painting Prize 2015 and nominated for The Arts Foundation Futures Award 2019 by Marcus Harvey.
