Described by the Art Car Boot Fair as "the thinking woman's Tracey Emin", Maddison collects, reworks and subverts the flotsam of forgotten lives, and is gradually building a kind of museum of domestic misery.
For this year’s Art Car Boot Fair, she has been making portraits - mostly self-portraits, reflecting the tragi-comic nature of her own life - in gouache and ink, on paper and cardboard.
