Emma Tornero and Chin Keeler have been collaborating under the name KEELERTORNERO since 2007 at PRAXIS N16, a thriving community of artists in East London’s Stoke Newington. They make work based around painting and collage and have ventured into installation and performance. They work on the same piece, sometimes at the same time, suspending individual artistic vision in an animated dialogue of polar styles, intuitively sourcing imagery or deliberating on a concept or theme.
Four years ago they devised KT-LAB, a project that explores painting by responding to tasks set by a diverse range of artists who then offer critical feedback to the completed work. For more about this see here: KT-LAB
Alongside their art practice they run creative workshops and work in graphic design, set painting and prop making for film and TV. Their work is owned by collectors worldwide and they regularly show at group exhibitions in London, the UK and Europe including Saatchi Gallery, MK Gallery and Swiss Cottage Library. Past collaborators include: House of Fairy Tales, Art Car Boot Fair, Herrick Gallery and Camden Council. They have participated in projects at Wellcome Collection, Natural History Museum, Camden Arts Centre and The Lowry Salford.
This series of collages has been specially for the 2021 Art Car Boot Fair on the theme of FLORA AND FAUNA.
