Pushka (b. 1980, London) is a painter working with figures, faces, and lived moments to explore states of presence and transformation. His large-scale oils combine dense impasto with fluid illusion, allowing bodies and environments to blur into one another in psychologically charged tableaus. Drawing on myth, memory, and the unconscious, Pushka’s work balances intensity with empathy, inviting viewers into spaces that feel both intimate and uncanny. A graduate of the Turps Studio Programme (2022–24), he also runs Canal Boat Contemporary, a travelling towpath gallery on a boat.
