Rachel Megawhat is a London based artist that defies easy categorization.
She is currently exhibiting 20 urban Landscape paintings at Art in the Age of Now -Fulham Town Hall London.
Known, in part, for flower photographs she returns to ACBF with a new series of floral polaroids - 'Night Garden Honesty and Bluebells'
Also a brand new series of paintings, small oils on canvas, studies of the Beasts of the Houses of Parliament.
She spent the 00's making artwork about how Internet technology would impact society. After completing a part-time MA at Camberwell, where her final work 'Computer Prayer' was selected for a Mark Wigan textbook , she began participating in Art/Tech hackathons, a phenomenon of the Tech City era.
She later spent time as a photojournalist. An early adopter of citizen journalism websites she found herself working at the heart of the Fake News era as a political photographer. She remains a member of the highly respected British Press Photographers Association. She has been appearing at ACBF since 2017 selling a series of unique polaroids as well as prints and paintings.
This year she is issuing 3 edition prints at ACBF . Firstly a never previously issued digital print of Letterpress work from her early technology series "Data data Everywhere" and secondly "Pelican" from an original oil painting. Also a print of her brand new Political animals series of paintings, studies of the Beasts of the Houses of Parliament.
Flower Polaroids from her highly collectible series shot on vintage slr680 will also be available.
