Today would have been our late Queen's 97th birthday and as we approach the Coronation of her eldest son and successor, the ACBF are marking the transition with a suitably special art sale in the ACBFSHOP with Heath Kane & flyingleaps.

FINAL SALUTE concludes Heath Kane's eight year long, best selling art project ‘Rich Enough to be Batman’ with a very special and collectible series of original works on plywood commemorating the Queen’s final salute and the last time her face will appear on bank notes and coins in the UK.

‘Rich Enough to be Batman’ provokes questions about wealth and social contribution through the idea that with enough money anyone can be a superhero. The image of the Queen has been used throughout as a symbol of wealth - juxtaposed against the mask of Batman. Batman is the only superhero to have a human power - the power to give back. 

These A6 original artworks come in five different accent colours: Pink, Yellow, Blue, Green and Red. Each artwork will be entirely unique and created by the artist himself, incorporating the chosen accent colour. The artist has elected to make these works available at the very special price of £135 (plus shipping) so that they are accessible to all. You can choose your accent colour at point of purchase and all works will be signed by the artist.

As the Coronation date fast approaches and the populist media cynically, sycophantically and profiteeringly seeks to outdo one another by going large on the big day, flyingleaps and its collaborating artists beg to propose a few alternate views regarding the state occasion we’re all paying for. They say 'It all reeks a bit of ‘bread and circuses’, a shameless distraction from the state we’re actually in -  a beleaguered, basket case UK.'

Magda Archer kicked things off by suggesting that the Coronation was an event that might merit a flyingleaps poster riposte. She was quickly joined by Martin Rowson, Dr.D, Tim Fishlock, Sarah Maple and Simon Roberts. And then there were six!

Each collaborating artist brings their own perspective to the Coronation proceedings questioning the cost, the elaborate smoke and mirrors pageantry, the contemporary relevance of the monarchy, hereditary privilege and misdemeanours past and present. These works challenge, insist and refute  - they are striking, colourful, clever and contrary and posters are already popping up on flyposting sites all over the coronation capital and further afield.
