Cyanotype is a Victorian photographic technique that produces a Prussian blue image by exposing a paper coated with a special solution that reacts to daylight (UV light).
Each print comes from a series of analogue photographs taken by the artist herself.
The process involves developing the photograph which is then printed on acetate paper. The large-scale negative is then placed on watercolour paper that has been coated in the dark room with a light-sensitive solution and exposed to daylight (UV rays). The print is then washed and dried, developing into a full-density Prussian blue after 24 hours.
Each print is slightly different due to the brushstrokes, the peculiar handmade technique and other variations in the handmade process.
This print is signed and dated by the artist.
