Haus of Lucy is not only obsessed with marrying together the old and the new, but also the mundane and ordinary - the things we use and see around us every day. And how better to explore this than with a traditional Delft style hand painted tile! This tile features a washing machine because Lucy is so grateful they were invented to replace the old 'slap it against a rock' process, enabling her to wear whatever she chooses and the day she moans about having to hang another wash is the day she counts her blessings that she doesn't have to go down to the river just to get clean pants.
