Kath Leone is a contemporary artist and textile designer from Cape Town, South Africa.
Inspired by nature, Kath creates highly imaginative scenes and pseudo botanical compositions featuring plants, insects, animals, fungi & sea life.
Kath has a condition called synaesthesia, which adds continual additional colour, texture and shape perception to her experience of everyday life. This results in her life-long love of working and experimenting with colour. This might also be what influences her work to be so detailed and colourful, often composed of numerous complex layers of overlapping, translucent inks in a quest to achieve glow and otherworldly qualities of colour not usually experienced through sight alone.
